New Logo

So there it is... Finished.

Overall I'm quite happy with the design. The Rat Ogre is the new Logo/Mascot for my friend paulhicks Blood Bowl team Clan Moulder's Mutants.

Winter Composition

After almost four years in Canada we finally had something resembling a real winter. This has meant that most of my sketching has been done inside a warm and cozy coffee shop, looking out at the people in the snow.

So today I sat down and looked through one of my sketch books from this past holiday season and I came upon an nice little scene I had captured while enjoying a cup of tea one late afternoon.

The figures and background were both blocked in with simple shapes, concentrating more on the big value changes then anything else. I gave the perspective a little tweak in the background just to get a more cartoony feel to the whole composition.

All in all I had fun trying this little experiment out.

Fumble Bees

Another day another sports logo. Well mascot really. After a rather rough day I still managed to produce a design that I'm not all displeased with. It's kind of late and hopefully I will have lots to do tomorrow. So... I give you the Fumble Bees! Enjoy!

Logos

The logo is for a Fantasy Football team (on fumbbl.com). The Norse of Born To Rune III have never looked better!

Logo design is one of my favorite things to do. It's tricky but rewarding, finding that one image that not only captures the essence of the team/company but also adds to it at the same time.

Most likely there will be plenty more of these as the year progresses.

Why a blog?

It's a good question isn't it?

Well for me this is simply another reason to keep my work up to date and to force me to strive to improve. I've been in art school and animation school for years... and now I find myself facing the "real world" and all the scary and exiting challenges ahead of me.

This blog is for my art and my love of drawing.
